Be At Watami, A Japanese Restaurant

Be At Watami, A Japanese Restaurant

Okay! Completing the restaurants of The Bistro Group is almost done. We had Friday’sItalianni’s, Fish & Co, Krazy Garlik, Modern Shanghai and now, we’re going to have Watami for our dinner. We really chose to dine in restaurant of The Bistro Group to be sure that I will leave their restaurant with a silly smile on my face as I don’t get out just being plain full but very contented. They have different international concepts on their different restaurants. After having their Chinese and Italian restaurant, we chanced upon this restaurant which boasts of being the number one restaurant in Japan. Well, I think they deserve it.

Aside from that, I was amazed at the beautiful facade of it. As soon as I got in the restaurant, the wonderful ambiance of Japanese interiors and yellow lightning greeted me and immediately puts me at ease. The service crew are all smiles and make you feel right at home, too. Their customers definitely love their stay here.

Watami Menu

And for the food, yes, they are offering Japanese foods from starters, soups and salads to main courses, desserts and drinks. Next to Chinese, it’s one cuisine that I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of eating. The restaurant just gave their dishes a little twist from the original version so they’ll stand among the other Japanese restaurants. Well, let’s proceed with the dishes. Shall we?

Pepper Beef with Rice

Pepper Beef with Rice

Because of Pepper Lunch, Beef Pepper Rice became my favorite. So I ordered Watami’s own version of it and surely, there will be comparisons between the two Japanese dishes. Although I found Pepper Lunch’s Beef Pepper Rice better, my mother said that she liked Watami’s more. Anyways, both dishes have exciting flavor. Maybe, you should try it yourself and tell us what you think.

Salmon Irodori Sushi

Salmon Irodori Sushi

My mother ordered for this sushi that comes with raw salmon. But she remembered that she’s not into eating raw so she lent me her order. I had no time to know what’s inside the rice but it had flavors that popped right into my mouth. How good was it? I should say that the sushi didn’t took a minute on the table after my mother gave it to me. Two is not enough.

Salmon Belly Skewer

There’s another salmon here, but this time, it’s my mom’s turn. So the review here will be coming from her mouth. I want to have a taste but I didn’t because I think the small cut is not enough for her. I just asked her and she said that it was great, but it didn’t reach her expectations because of its high price. Well, we just justified it in our minds that their salmon belly is fresh and healthy anyway.

Watami Salad

Watami Salad

The salad may seem unappealing in this photo because this was taken when it is already mixed. We said yes on the waitress when she asked us to mix the food for us. While mixing in front of us, that’s the only time I remembered that I should took photo of it, that’s why. By the way, Watami Salad, which contains pork cutlets, shrimps, tuna, crab roe, greens and all, is satisfying in its own.

Grilled Squid

I was choosing between tempura and grilled squid but I picked grilled squid because its photo on the menu seems big, but then I got this. But I forgot all that when I finally had a slice. It shouts freshness with a hint of sweetness. It’s not chewy, too, which is good. This is the best grilled squid I’ve tasted so far.

Sumo Wrestler Hotpot with Spicy Miso Soup

My mom prefer to be in a restaurant that serves soup, especially Shabu-Shabu. That’s another reason why we ended up sitting on the chairs of Watami. And we didn’t regret ordering this soup because everything in it is perfect. The tender meat and the fresh seafood blends well with the spiciness of the soup itself. Oh! I don’t how to describe this beauty.

Maccha Tiramisu

I thought, it was Matcha Tiramisu but they’re just the same so nevermind. I’m a huge fan of tiramisus but not the green one. But still, I tried it and it tasted like what it should be, a green tea flavored. Even though I’m not liking green tea, I learned to love this dessert. For all the green tea lovers out there, this tiramisu is perfect for you.

Passionfruit Mango Tea

Passionfruit Mango Tea

From the moment I entered the restaurant, I saw this huge drink on some of the tables and was attracted on its appearance. I wondered what it contains. When I finally had my own, I knew that pearls and some kind of seeds made it looked like that. Btw, I love mango and passion fruit blended together so I really enjoyed this refreshing thirst quencher.
