Best Of Ariana Grande

In my blog post, American Singers We Want, I already told you that Ariana Grande is my favorite singer not just in America but in the world. She’s so charming that I can spend a whole day watching her perform. But one reason why Ariana Grande is my favorite singer is simply because she has the greatest singing voice I’ve ever heard. It is rich, pure and undeniably high. She has a soprano voice that is strong and whistle register that is totally admirable. Therefore, she was able to produce unique and exceptional songs that reach the hit chart. Her voice is so flexible that it can cover pop, r&b and classical. Moreover, note that she can mimic the tones and voices of Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion.

Before anything else, let me give a little background about her. Ariana Grande is an American singer who began career in Broadway Musical before appearing in television series such as Victorious and Sam & Cat. Through these shows, the world discovered her voice making her first studio album, Yours Truly, reach top ten of the Billboard Hot 100. After Yours Truly, she created more two more album with singles that achieve hit charts and awards. From her albums Yours Truly, My Everything and Dangerous Woman, listed below are my top ten choices.

10. E Più Ti Penso

E notte fonda e sei lontano
Hai il vuoto intorno senza te
Il sole più non c’è
Sono triste e sconsolato
Come non sonn stato mai
Senza te, Senza te

Andrea Bocelli is a legend among male vocalists. I’m looking forward to see him perform live. Ariana’s voice is incredibly rich and warm as well which levels with Andrea. I so love this song because it shows how versatile Ariana is. She is not just for pop but she also do well in classical music such as this. For those who do not believe to Ariana’s talent, hear this out.

9. Piano

I could write a song with my new piano
I could sing about how love is a losing battle
Not hard, (it’s not hard),
It’s not hard, (it’s not hard),
It’s not hard, (it’s not hard),
It’s not hard, (It’s not hard),

Coming from the album Yours Truly, Piano is a song shows Ariana’s love for composing, singing and simply loving. This song always gets me dancing because of the groovy melody it displays. I wish that this becomes one of her singles. This deserves so much more love and attention!

8. Popular Song

Popular, I know about popular
It’s not about who you are or your fancy car
You’re only ever who you were
Popular, I know about popular
And all that you have to do, is be true to you
That’s all you ever need to know

Originally, Popular Song is sung by Mika and Priscilla Renea for Wicked, then rearrange it for single but this time with Ariana. Although she’s just a featuring artist in the Popular Song, I don’t know but I think she’s the one who brought the song up to beauty and fame. But all thanks to Mika and Priscilla for this wonderful composition!

7. Moonlight

I never knew, I never knew
You could hold moonlight in your hands
‘Til the night I held you
You are my moonlight
Moonlight

Moonlight is a track from Ariana’s 2016 album, Dangerous Woman. While listening to it with my eyes closed, this song gives me chills and calmness as if it is the sweetest lullaby on the Earth and Ariana is a fallen angel. You will see how pure Ariana’s voice in Moonlight. I hope I hear this in radio as often as Side To Side.

6. Put your Hearts Up

Let me see you put your hearts up, yeah
Let me see you put your hearts up, yeah
If we give a little love,
Maybe we can change the world

I know that Ariana do not want to come back to her old self or to her Cat-Valentine self or to her Put-Your-Hearts-Up self because it is just a role that she played which is far different from the real her. But I love both sides of her. She’s an amazing singer whether or not she’s playing a character or she’s being herself. Put your Hearts Up though reminds me of her sweet side.

5. Dangerous Woman

Somethin’ ’bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman
Somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout you
Makes me wanna do things that I shouldn’t
Somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout

And this is the real her I’m talking about – a dangerous woman. In her song Dangerous Woman, she didn’t just showcased her real self but also her awesome singing voice. We can hear that she has no issue staying in the soprano tessitura for extended periods of time. And her whistle at the end is impressive as always.

4. Almost is Never Enough

Almost, almost is never enough
So close to being in love
If I would have known that you wanted me
The way I wanted you

Choosing the fourth among my top four was a tough decision. For me, the remaining four songs in this list can tie up to number one. Anyway, I like Almost is Never Enough because it gives so much feels. Both singers sing from the heart like as if they are still in a relationship. If you’ll look further list list, you will see that I placed two of their songs in the top four.

3. Love Me Harder

Cause if you want to keep me,
you gotta gotta gotta gotta gotta got to love me harder
And if you really need me,
you gotta gotta gotta gotta gotta gotta got to love me harder

Setting aside the definition of the song which is quite dirty, I know you agree that this song is one of Ariana’s bests. It has a unique tune that will catch our ears and will end us up having LSS. Just please don’t think about the lyrics because I know it will ruin your admiration for the song.

2. Over and Over Again

Promise it won’t get broken
We’ll never forget this moment
Yeah, we’ll stay brand-new ’cause I’ll love you
Over and over again

Almost is Never Enough is from Ariana’s album, Yours Truly, while Over and Over Again is from Nathan Skyes’ album, Unfinished Business. But no matter what, it seems that both of them are the lead singers. I ship them again because they do not just look perfect together but also sound flawless together. Over and Over Again is just one proof for that.

1. Beauty and the Beast

Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly

Oh! This one gives justice to the theme song of one of our favorite Disney movies. Honestly, I think Ariana Grande’s version is better than the original because I’m the type of person who appreciates modernized songs than their old version. Celine Dion’s version is phenomenal. We all know that. But whenever I hear this, I get goosebumps and sometimes tears.
