Best Of Demi Lovato

best of demi lovato

For almost a decade now, Demi Lovato has been a great part of music industry and had influenced a lot of people already. She may experienced some ups and downs on her career like having a voice problems, but still her name and voice will forever be in the hearts of Lovatics.

Yes, I’m one of the Lovatics! Ever since Camp Rock came out of the cinemas, I became a big fan of Demi Lovato. I remember I was addicted to Gaia Online during grade school and my username was Emid Otavol, the reversed words for her name. When I was in high school, I downloaded most of her songs, put it in a folder and listen to that playlist time by time. And now that I’m in College wherein I started blogging, I shared an OOTD: This Is Me wherein I styled myself like Mitchie Torres. These are just some of the effects that my love for Demi have done. This also lead me to list down my top ten favorite Demi Lovato songs from her albums, Don’t Forget, Here We Go Again, Unbroken and Demi.

10. Cool for the Summer

Don’t tell your mother
Kiss one another
Die for each other
We’re cool for the summer

We know that Demi has been through some vocal problems for the past few years but talent-wise, she’s definitely up there! Her voice is back with her newest single, Cool for the Summer. And I’m freaking proud that she finally has the courage to show the world how beautiful her curves are, no matter what the people say.

9. Unbroken

I’m gonna love you like I’ve never been broken
I’m gonna say it like it’s never been spoken
Tonight, tonight I’m letting go, go, go, go
I’m gonna give it like it’s never been taken
I’m gonna fall like I don’t need saving
Tonight, tonight I’m letting go, go, go, go

I’m just wondering why they call it unbroken. She didn’t even said the word in the song. Maybe, it’s just to shorten the meaning of the line “I’m gonna love you like I’ve never been broken.” But hey, that don’t matter because this is a great song. It reminds me of her song Never Been Hurt which has the same meaning and idea.

8. Who Will I Be

Who will I be?
It’s up to me
All the never ending possibilities
That I can see
There’s nothing that I can’t do
Who will I be?
Yes, I believe
I get to make the future what I want to
If I can become anyone and know the choice is up to me
Who will I be?

I’m a Camp Rock fan and I find this really good! This is the first music that we’ll hear in the movie, right? Well, the moment I first heard it, I already added it on my list of favorite songs. However, as I listen to this song, I noticed that her voice have improve over the years. She sounds great at that time, but even better now.

7. Wouldn’t Change a Thing

Like fire and rain (like fire and rain)
You can drive me insane (You can drive me insane)
But I can’t stay mad at you for anything
We’re Venus and Mars (Venus and Mars)
We’re like different stars (like different stars)
But you’re the harmony to every song I sing
And I wouldn’t change a thing

If Who Will I be is my favorite song in the first Camp Rock film, Wouldn’t Change a Thing is it’s counterpart for me in their second Camp Rock film. Her voice was just beautifully blended with Joe Jonas’. Apart from that, the meaning and lyrics of the song is relatable to a lot of in-a-relationship people.

6. Skyscraper

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I’m made of glass
Like I’m made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

I think, I added this to Songs in my Heart, a list of music that describes me, and said there that even there are obstacles that blocks me , I build strong foundations for me to build my own skyscrapers. I actually love her voice sounding stressed here. It made the song that much more real, raw, easy to relate to and emotional.

5. For the Love of a Daughter

Oh, father,
Please, father
I’d love to leave you alone
But I can’t let you go
Oh, father
Please, father
Put the bottle down
For the love of a daughter

It’s my first time to hear a song or even a speech that favors a daughter than a parent. I know they are always right but they still have to know that they still make mistakes in deciding. Thanks to Demi for giving such message through a lovely song. A child should never go through this kind of trauma. The whole world should know that!

4. Work of Art

Come on let’s write a song, a little poetry
Take a photograph, let’s make some memories
You can make it anything that you want it to be
If you follow your heart, life is a work of art

This song which appears on the Disney TV series, Sonny with a Chance, always influence me to be creative and to follow my heart and dreams just like what the American sitcom do. It’s not just the title but the song itself is a work of art. Demi Lovato, even if she may not realize it, is a source of inspiration and joy!

3. Really Don’t Care

But even if the stars and moon collide
I never want you back into my life
You can take your words and all your lies
Oh oh oh I really don’t care

I love this song because in addition to its wonderful music that makes my body jive with its beat, the eighth track from her latest and self-titled album has a stunning music video that helped to raise a lot of money for the LGBT community. At first, I thought it was meant for breakups. Well, it was good that they took on another meaning.

2. Shouldn’t Come Back

Maybe you shouldn’t come back
Maybe you shouldn’t come back to me
Tired of being so sad,
Tired of getting so mad, baby
Stop right now,
You’ll only let me down, oh, oh
Maybe you shouldn’t come back
Maybe you shouldn’t come back to me

These words speak the truth and it makes me cry! Maybe, for us, listeners, the song refers to our partners that shouldn’t come back because we know that they’ll gonna break our hearts again. However, for Demi, the song is for her father. I feel good on her that she really puts her emotions to songs.

1. Heart Attack

Puttin’ my defenses up
‘Cause I don’t wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I’d have a heart attack

Demi Lovato blew me out of the water vocally in this song! She proved that she’s certainly a strong singer. I think, she’d give me a heart attack because of her astounding vocal range that can be heard in Heart Attack. Oh I have nothing more to say. I ran out of words because of the song’s and the singer’s greatness.
