What To Eat When You Have Hangover

“Hindi na ako iinom! Pagalingin niyo lang ako!”

These are few words we think or shout whenever we are in a hangover. The struggle is real! We always have a fun night drinking excessive alcohol without thinking that we’ll be dealing with fatigue, nausea, headache, dehydration or dizziness on the next day. So I thought of a blog that enumerates some food that might help us with hangover.

Here’s a fun fact. I’m writing this while dwelling in a hangover. This is just a past time but it might help you.

1. Water

Of course, everyone knows that water is number one on this list. It makes you pee the alcohol.

2. Mango

There’s evidence that the natural sugars found in honey and natural fruits can actually help you move the alcohol out of your system faster.

3. Apple

This means that apple passes as a hangover food, too. I mean the real apple.

4. Watermelon

We need water to flush out the alcohol. Watermelon is composed of around 90% water. I hope that makes sense already.

5. Honey

Oh no! That’s not another alcohol. That’s honey! Its high fructose content may improve hangover symptoms.

6. Noodle Soup

Korean dramas taught me that noodle soups are hangover soups. It’s a remedy for flu, as well, as hangovers.

7. Meat

Yes! We’re doing it right! Meat is high in protein. The body breaks down protein into amino acids, making it a good choice during a hangover.

8. Nuts

Excessive alcohol consumption can deplete magnesium in your cells. As a result, refilling magnesium through nuts may help treat hangover.

9. Oatmeal

Oatmeal contains complex carbohydrates that provide a slow and steady release of sugar into the bloodstream and may help with hangover symptoms.

10. Green Tea

One study found that compounds in green tea significantly decreased blood alcohol concentration in rats. It might have same effects to humans.

11. Coffee

Coffee may not fight the inflammation of hangover but if you’re looking to improve your fatigue and become more alert, coffee is a good choice.

12. Orange

Eating oranges may give you the vitamin C you need to keep glutathione levels stable and cure hangover.

13. Crackers

Crackers contain fast-acting carbs that can increase your blood sugar during a hangover and improve related symptoms.

14. Pickles

Eating pickles may help boost your sodium levels and overcome your hangover.

15. Turmeric

The anti-nausea effects of turmeric make it a possible treatment for the stomach upset associated with hangovers.

16. Coconut Water

This is a pretty common remedy. Since hydration is such an important part of hangover recovery, drinking this may facilitate getting over a hangover.

17. Eggs

Eggs are full of cysteine, an amino acid that help creates antioxidant glutathione. Eating this can maximize glutathione in body and improve hangover symptoms.

18. Yogurt

The yogurt’s protein and carbs help stabilize blood sugar and fight the associated mix of nausea and hunger.

19. Tomatoes

Tomatoes have been shown to boost liver function, which will help your body process the toxins floating around your system.

20. Soya

The amino acid helps break down the toxins left behind by alcohol and soya is high in it.
