I can say that Philippines is known to have talented and athletic people who excels in the world of sports. We have the Gilas Pilipinas which won an innumerable championships in basketball and was considered as the powerhouse team in Southeast Asia. We have Azkals which is one of the oldest national teams in football in Asia. We have Manny Pacquiao for boxing who doesn’t need introductions here anymore. We have Efren Reyes who is the winner of over 70 international titles. We have Philippine Dragon Boat Federation, Philippine Swimming League, Philippine Cheerleading Association, Philippine Taekwondo Association and other associations that make our country proud through their respective sports. With our country having a lot of athletes, maybe, each one of us has our own favorite. Let’s ask some of my friends.
Rachel Anne Daquis. Kasi dahil sa kanya, nagustuhan ko ang volleyball. Sobrang humble niyang player, friendly at kahit na hindi naman siya kagalingan sa paningin ng iba, para sa akin sobrang perfect niya at sobrang ganda niya. Kahit n taga-NU ako, I still cheer for the Queen Tamaraw. Basta love na love na love ko ‘yun!
Macky Boy King
Francis Casey Alcantara. This Cagayan de Oro native was not as highly-touted by the Philippine Tennis Association’s Filipino-American recruits, which is quite a head scratcher, especially considering what he has done. Just last year, the teenager combined with Taiwan’s Cheng Peng Hsieh to win the Junior’s Title of the Australian Open. Alcantara thus became the first Filipino to win a Grand Slam Title of any sort. Yan! Sapat na iyang explanation na galing sa fiftypesoseats.blogspot.com para magustuhan ko siya.
Si Manny Pacquiao. Dahil bukod sa pgiging magaling niya sa ring, during his ups and downs, he is still not forgetting to look up on Him to give back the graces he received and I think what makes him famous is his humility despite of his achievements in his boxing career. He knows how to look back at the people he used to be with while taking the stair to his success.
Si Bata lagi kong pinapanuod kahit sa TV lang simula pa nung bata pa ako. Nawitness ko nga yung pagsikat nun eh. Galing magbillard. Shoot lagi.
May I repeat what I said earlier. With our country having a lot of athletes, maybe, each one of us has our own favorite. Oh my gosh! I’m so confident saying that but I, myself, honestly, don’t have favorite athlete. I don’t know. It’s just now that I realized that I don’t have one even though I’m interested in some sports namely badminton, tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, swimming, synchronized swimming, billiard and ice skating. Okay. Let’s just take the first local athlete that will come to my mind and that is, drum roll please, Jeron Teng. Well, it formed when I started cheering for DLSU. He gained my full admiration and to add on that, he’s cute.
