Travel Essentials

It’s the 34th day of quarantine period in our region and I miss wandering! And I know you do, too.

I know you’re not going places right now because of the pandemic but for future reference, you may also use this as a checklist whenever you pack for travel. Pack these items for a hale and hearty adventure.

Neck Pillow

Be sure to get enough sleep! Your vacat might not turn out so great if you’re exhausted due to lack of sleep. If you’re travelling to another country, you might find out that their daytime is your nighttime and vice versa. Give your body time to adjust.

Jacket

You’ll never know when it will get chilly or when it will rain so might as well include a jacket in your luggage. As for me, a jacket isn’t enough so I also bring blanket. We usually go to Manila when the sun is down. And at these times, it’s freezing inside the car.

Indoor Slippers

Of course, you wouldn’t forget your outdoor sandals and robber shoes because you prepare your OOTD pieces beforehand. But also, don’t forget your indoor slippers that you can use inside rooms or wear while taking a bath.

Laundry Bag

Bringing plastic bags during outing is  a Filipino thing because it is where we put our wet and used clothing. But for eco-friendly people like me, I always bring laundry bag as an alternative. After all, it a useful tool to separate  dirty clothes from clean ones.

Hygiene Kit

Always feel fresh and clean by bringing along your comb, tootbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo, conditioner, soap, tissue, wet wipes, hand sanitizer and other essentials you use for your daily skincare routine.

Medicine Kit

What if you suddenly get the sniffles during your trip? What if your allergy attack strikes? Keep your peace of mind by bringing a medicine kit. Make sure to put prescription medicines, insect repellent, thermometer, bandages and povidone-iodine.

Face Mask

This is very timely but even without this pandemic, face mask is a must-have during travels. If you got a flu or if the person sitting beside you has colds, wear your face mask to avoid spreading or catching airborne germs.

Wet Wipes

I know I already mentioned this in hygiene kit but I have to repeat wet wipes again because this is important, especially when the nature is calling you and the comfort room nearby has no bidet or pail and dipper.

Snacks

Even though our parents would forget to remind us to bring snacks, my boyfriend and I wouldn’t. We just can’t live without food in the car, especially during midnight to dawn when most of the stores are closed. It’s something we always have in mind.

Tumbler/Reusable Cups

Close friends know that I drink a lot so definitely, I can’t go out without a bottle of water. I put my water in tumbler so I wouldn’t buy drinks anymore. Aside from water bottle, I also bring my reusable Starbucks Cup just in case we stop by the cafe.

Reusable Straw

Ever since I discovered reusable straws, my metal straw set has always been part of this list. I always use this whenever I’m in restaurants to avoid using plastic straws. If you have LifeStraw, then that’s better, especially during hike

Planner

If you’re like me, who writes itinerary in planners, then don’t forget your planner. It’s always a good decision to plan or to make organize itinerary before discovering places so you would not waste your time thinking which way to go during travels.

Powerbank

A memorable adventure always comes up with long travel and lots of waiting. And frequently, we choose our cellphones as our source of entertainment. The last thing we want to happen is low battery. So make sure to bring powerbanks with you.

Extension Cord

I guess I’m the only one who brings extension wire to travel. It saves my life since I was in grade school. Back then, my schoolmates and I attended competitions in different places. We were innumerable and we slept in one room with only few outlets.

Loyalty and Discount Cards

Who else collects this kind of cards? Whenever there’s an opportunity, I always avail discount and loyalty cards from different establishments because of the perks and privileges it gives. But don’t forget to bring them always so you can obtain them.
