Celebrate Love & Happiness With Cakes By Leen

One bakeshop Calapan is proud to have is probably Cakes by Leen. They started baking in their small store along the street of J.P. Rizal. Eventually, tiny stalls with their cakes displayed erupted in Calapan malls. That’s where I discovered them since I mostly go to malls of Calapan. Now, I find Cakes by Leen branches in Victoria and Pinamalayan.

Here are the cakes and pastries by Leen I’ve tried so far.

buy soma no rx needed Mango Caramel Cake

Looking upon this Mango Caramel Cake, it seems luscious already as it is neatly created and decorated. I can definitely see why this is Cakes by Leen’s signature product. The mango frosting layer is so thick that it reaches and deliciously fills the pores of the cake. They also made sure that the mango slices on top are sweet. The aroma is inviting. However, the caramel is lacking since its spread is just in middle and at the side. But the mango is sweet enough to complete the cake. I like that the part is moist, too.

buy Soma with no rx Tiramisu

I must say that the packaging of their Mango Caramel Cake is great. It secures the cake very well. It’s not a problem if they chose a box for their Tiramisu this time though. After all, they did a good presentation on this one that’s why I instantly picked their Tiramisu. It’s simple and elegant at the same time. In terms of taste, I love the intensity of the java as I am a coffee lover myself. It’s balanced with sweetened cream. The lady finger cookies outside are crunchy while the ones inside are moist. I’m obsessed!

Empanada

If there’s one kind of pastry that is available everyday at Cakes by Leen, it would be Empanada. In fact, it’s the only bread available in their Pinamalayan stall and I kinda hate that they don’t have other pastries to choose from but having their Empanada isn’t bad either. The outer bread is thick and crunchy but it’s worth it since it has generous amount of yummy fillings like chicken and potatoes. Although I prefer eating it hot, it’s still delicious when the warmth goes away.

Milky Bomb-olini and Asian Bread

The Milky Bomb-olini is oozing with creamy filling. It’s truly a bomb! Aside from milky, the filling is sweet and cheesy. The crust reminds me of the one-peso donuts we can buy at bakeries. The pastry is soft, moist and perfectly cooked. There’s no denying that Cakes by Leen really make quality breads as they are always soft. However, they weren’t able to balance the flavors of the toppings in the Asian Bread. I know this should be savory but the choice of toppings is kinda off. Cheese is bitter. Sausage is bitter.

Choco Marble and Tunadesal

One time, I was disappointed because I got a Choco Marble bread that is dry, tough and airy. The chocolate was sweet and flavorful which improved the taste and texture of the whole thing. It has crunchy bottom, which I find satisfying. The Tunadesal seems to be a usual bun with a tuna filling. But their blend of tuna made Cakes by Leen’s version tangy and unique. My palate is grasping some flavors of mayonnaise and cheese, which blended well with tuna.

Despite of my satisfactory experience at Cakes by Leen, I can’t miss to tell my one-time disappointing moment at the cake shop. I started inquiring through their Facebook Page at the morning of May 6, 2020 and wished to reserve Yema Sans Rival to be picked up on May 8, 2020. They replied in the afternoon of May 6, stating that Sans Rival cakes weren’t available for advance orders. I instantly answered and ordered Carrot Cake as substitute. They replied the next morning, May 7, 2020 and said that my order should be paid online first for it to be reserved so I immediately asked for their payment methods only to be replied four hours later that the Carrot Cake is sold out. I was feeling mad already but I politely asked for their available cakes and their prices. I sent my new orders and was replied by 8pm of May 7 saying that their store is closed and they’ll know the availability of my orders the next day. That’s the time when I burst out of anger and told them, “Kanina pa po ako nagmemessage at tumatawag, actually, kahapon pa.” I forgave them when they said they’re sorry but I never ordered online from them again.
