How To Make Tuna Rotini Pasta

It’s the 107th day of quarantine period in our region and we have all the time to remake one of my mom’s signature pasta, the Tuna Rotini Pasta.

It’s one of her three best pasta I’ve tried. We usually make this before when there’s an occasion or whenever we just feel like cooking it. I don’t know why she stopped making this recipe and proceeded to experimenting new kinds of recipes. But for me, this will always be one of may favorite pasta along with her Mushroom Cream Penne Pasta. So I persuaded her to try having this again.

1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.

  • 1/2 kilo Rotini pasta
  • 540 grams canned tuna
  • 400 grams sliced mushrooms
  • 2 red bell pepper
  • white onion
  • 1/4 cups olive oil
  • water
  • salt
  • pepper

2. Cook pasta in boiling water, salt and oil.

3. While the pasta is cooking, chop onion and bell pepper.

4. Saute sliced onion.

5. Add sliced bell pepper and mushroom pieces.

6. Season with salt and pepper.

7. Pour contents of canned tuna. Don’t forget to include the tuna juice and vegetable oil as most of the flavors will come from this. Let this all simmer.

8. Drain pasta.

9. Lightly pour olive oil into the Rotini pasta.

10. Spread tuna mixture over pasta.

11. Your Tuna Rotini Pasta is now done and ready to be served.
