Infinity Resort And Spa: Jewel Of Puerto Galera

It’s the 275th day of quarantine period in our region and no pandemic is gonna stop us from having our yearly beach getaway, no matter what month or season it may happen. Therefore, to level our Boracay and Pico De Loro trip, we decided to visit Infinity Resort and Spa from our very own land.

They say that Infinity Resort and Spa is the best hotel in Puerto Galera. I kinda disagree and I have to rephrase. I must say that it is the best hotel, so far, as of 2020, in Oriental Mindoro. It’s been standing in the beach front for five years already yet its facilities and design is still advanced. It’s a place of luxury and grandeur that you cannot see in other parts of Mindoro.

Apart from spending our yearly vacation, this staycation is also a birthday gift for my mom. She has been in Infinity Resort and Spa before with her friends and she always dream of going back with me one day. For numerous times already, she tells me how much she enjoyed in this resort. Hey, mom! I’m glad that you can finally share that joy with me.

Upon entering, the exquisite yet minimalist architecture was the first thing I noticed. Seeing the exterior, one would know that the structure were detailed professionally. The design blended well with the landscape of the pools and gardens. Even the interiors were fascinating.

The infinity pool is the resort’s main attraction. With this perfect illusion of pool that stretches to the sea and the sky, it’s undeniably one of the most mesmerizing out there. Having a visit on its reopening day amidst the pandemic became advantageous on our side since we got the whole pool all to ourselves.

The resort has a relaxing view of the beach at the north. The sand is already a mix of black and white. Swimming at the beach isn’t advisable though. However, we saw some guests having private dinner by the bay and it’s so romantic.

On the other end, a large jacuzzi is situated. Apart from the calming warmth that it brings, the jacuzzi is also built with underwater jets that massages the body. It’s feels so good to dip while sipping mango shake from the Estuary Pool Bar.

My biker boyfriend was also having his time in this huge compound that sits between mountains. In the afternoon, he roamed around the resort with his bike. In the morning, he tread the uphill and downhill roads nearby.

Other amenities include the Malasimbo Spa, wherein you can get the pampering you deserve after all the stress. It’s surprising that they offer a wide selection of treatments and therapies for their customers. If spa isn’t your thing, you’ll surely have a fun time in their game rooms, entertainment room and fitness gym.

We booked for a Family Room and the size is actually enough for more than four pax. It’s literally a combination of their Deluxe and Executive Rooms. Both portions has their wardrobe, television set and mini kitchen, that is complete with coffee and tea essentials. The cold ventilation and soft pillows make me want to tuck up in bed all day.

There are also two shower rooms for the four of us. The one is with bath tub  but we weren’t able to use it since we prefer the jacuzzi. They have heater and bidet so I easily approve of it. Customized toiletries were also provided.

The best part of the room is the balcony since we’re rewarded with the scene of the infinity pool and the horizon. It was early in the morning and we already got our satisfaction by just drinking our coffee in this terrace.

It’s almost a dream staycation granted. Perhaps, our only concern is the poor WiFi connection inside. I appreaciate that I can access their internet wherever I go in their compound except in rooms.

Our accommodation has a complimentary breakfast at The Brae Restaurant. Their flagship restaurant is spacious enough for events and buffet. However, since they have to follow a limited number of guests at that time, we are served with plated meals, which is really abundant for two.

I noticed that our breakfast was composed of ready-to-prepare and ready-to-cook dishes like cereals and fruits. We actually thought that the corned beef is Delimondo since they taste the same. I’m not fond of Filipino footlong but I must say that theirs is good. The pork tapa is juicy. The hash brown is crispy yet oily while the tocino is sweet yet dry. Fruit juices were delish. However, the hot chocolate is too milky. Can it be darker?

All of the staff from guard and maintenance to housekeeping and reception were welcoming and hospitable. They politely do everything we request. Assistance is provided even before we arrive at the hotel.

When I thought that everything was perfect, it was ruined when a friend called me right after leaving the gates of Infinity Resort and Spa and learned from her that the resort gives discount to Mindoro residents and, at the same, has an ongoing promo for those who will stay during their reopening days. I didn’t know about this! They didn’t even let me know about this so I paid the full amount! It was just disheartening. Don’t worry. Our two-day stay was worth it. I was satisfied when I left the resort but with a little disappointment because I wasn’t informed about the promo, which I believe we deserved because we’re the first ones to visit the hotel when it reopened.
