Suasages, Burgers And Wings Of The Big City

It’s the 160th day of quarantine period in our region and I’m totally missing Manila. I’m missing the nightlife of the city and the numerous restaurant and destinations to choose and visit. Since we’re stuck in our province due to the pandemic, which I am also thankful because of the low number cases in Mindoro compared to Manila, I can only do throwbacks on the restaurants I’ve visited before.

One food joint I truly miss is the Big City, which we often visit when we go to Mall of Asia. Big City Restaurant gives us the taste of American fast food dishes such as burgers, sausages, wings and fries. They say they offer America’s number one. Let’s try and find out.

Cheddar Link Sausage

Some people may say that their sausage meals are not enticing due to the dull presentation. I’ve tried all of their sausages and you will not see a single dressing or topping that will allure the customer. But once you had a taste, you will understand that the magic comes out behind that sausage skin. The meat is tender and juicy. The flavors are recognized. The bum was plain though. Among their sausages, I like pineapple the most.

Double Cheeseburger

Big City’s burger isn’t the best burger out there but I must say that its flavors we’re unforgettable. The bacon may not be crispy and the cheese may not be recognized but the judgment will always fall down to the patty. It’s beefy and juicy at the same time. It’s thin yet flavorful. The grilled parts were the best. For Big City burgers, I would totally recommend Double Cheeseburger, mainly because of the patty.

Sausage & Burger Steak

Sausage & Burger Steak is my favorite in Big City. I think, this is every big man’s choice in this restaurant because this meal is indeed a great deal. It’s like combining the best of both worlds in one hot plate! I can’t resist the flavors of the charred areas, not to mention the juicy meat. Aside from the luscious sausage and patty, the steak is also drenched with delicious mushroom gravy and topped with well-cooked sunny-side up egg.

Buffalo Wings

Having this Buffalo Wings made me realize that this restaurant’s specialty is really burgers and sausages. With high expectations after trying the other dishes, I was kinda disappointed with the wings. The chicken isn’t undercooked but I wish they cook it longer so it would be crispier. The sauce was strange or maybe, I have other buffalo sauce in mind. The serving was pretty small, too. It’s just two chicken wings cut in half to make it look four.

Sausage Carbonara

Incorporating the big city’s famous street food into Carbonara is a good idea. Italians, the original makers of pasta, are not fans of adding sausages into pasta but here is Big City, giving us proofs that Carbonara and sausage go well together. The sausage adds unique flavors to the creamy Carbonara, making them a good match. I just wonder if they still have this today because their pastas weren’t in the menu during the last time we dined in.
