Tiptop Hashery: Great Food Guaranteed

My hometown, Pinamalayan, is currently at its booming state. Its residents, who used to live in a rural setting, are now getting a glimpse of city life as fast food chains and known convenience stores are emerging in this small town. Growing up with only simple carinderias around us, we were surprised by the number of new restaurants popping in every corner of Pinamalayan. And just months ago, I received a leaflet advertising another newly-opened restaurant called Tiptop Hashery. Since this restaurant is only a walking-distance away from our house and since the foodie in me can’t sleep without visiting this new spot, we gave it a try. We never thought that our try would lead us to our second and third and nth visit.

Tiptop Hashery’s menu involves starters, salads, rice bowls, burgers and sandwiches, entrees, pastas and desserts. The restaurant also serves as a bar on the side as they provide customers a selection of drinks may it be juices, coffees and teas, beers or cocktails. What I like about their food is the fact that they are simple yet one-of-a-kind. They make sure that they upgrade and make their own version of our usual food. They modernize their way of creating and designing their food so it surely suits the palate of millennials. Let’s look into some of their dishes and see what I’m talking about.

Loaded Breakfast Fries

Looking on the menu, I’m wondering what this Loaded Breakfast Fries could be. And yes! It’s really one hell of a breakfast. It has fries, ham, bacon and egg. It’s so American and I love this kind of breakfast. The egg is cooked the way I wanted it to be. The fries need a little more saltiness but still delicious and crispy. It’s also obvious that they didn’t use an ordinary bacon and ham for this. This is definitely one of my favorites in Tiptop Hashery.

Tiptop Orange Chicken

It isn’t hard to understand why Tiptop Orange Chicken is recommended by friends. The chicken feels so soft and tastes so pure. The orange sauce complements well with the meat. If it weren’t for KFC’s orange chicken, I would say that this is an incredible take on chicken. But I’m glad that Tiptop Hashery brought it back and brought it to my town. I just wish it has more sauce because it’s quite lacking especially when paired with rice.

Salted Egg Carbonara

I could see that Tiptop Hashery is embracing the newest flavor trend as it offers Salted Egg Carbonara. However, I expected that the flavors of salted egg were infused into the carbonara sauce but what I saw was a plain carbonara topped with sliced salted egg. The carbonara alone was great. My friends actually love it. I’m also liking the unique taste that the salted egg gives to the pasta. But I still think it would be better if the salted egg flavor is in the sauce.

Aloha Burger

I couldn’t lie about their Aloha Burger’s delectability but there are buts. The patty is fine but I can easily feel that it’s not pure beef. I like the crunchy sides of the patty though. The bun isn’t new but hopefully, it was just during our visit. The pineapple is an excellent addition to a usual burger but the Aloha Burger is sloppy so we ended up eating them one by one. Despite of the buts, the burger is not that bad. I’m actually planning to try their other burgers.

BLT Chopped Salad

Mom hates tomato so she asked if they could change the tomato to cucumber in the BLT Chopped Salad and I’m surprised that they allowed it. Attending to their customer’s request is a big thing for me so I’d give them a thumbs up for that. As for the salad, it was merely lettuce, bacon, cucumber, dressing and nothing else. Nothing really special. It just tastes how you imagine it to be. But I commend the freshness of the veggies.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake Sundae

This looks mouthwatering but when you dig into it, you will realize that it’s only composed of sliced brownies topped with a scoop of ice cream and pineapple slices. These ingredients were delish individually. The brownies taste like our favorite childhood snack, Fudgee Bar. The ice cream is orange flavor, which I guess, screams uniqueness. And the pineapple didn’t disappoint as well. However, I think that this combination didn’t work as the flavors weren’t merging.

Tropical Pineapple Mango Juice

This is one of the best drinks of Tiptop Hashery. I never thought that this blend would be smashing as this. It’s simple since we can always find mango and pineapple yet it tastes sweet and natural. You would agree that these two fruits are perfect combination. The mango gives the sweetness and the pineapple contributed the tanginess. I also appreciate the red crystals on the glass rim which gives an instagrammable vibe.

Tiptop Iced Coffee

Since this restaurant can also be enjoyed as a bar, I have two Tiptop Hashery beverages featured for you. Well, you could also say that it’s my excuse for my love for iced coffee because I can’t blog Tiptop Hashery without it. Anyway, I like that the coffee flavor is really dominating in spite of being creamy as well. I just think that the cream on top isn’t whipped well because it’s still heavy and not foamy. But let me admire the choice of glass. It’s chic and classy.
