21st Birthday With Romulus Cafe And Restobar

Whenever I feature restaurants of my hometown in my blog, I always mention how Pinamalayan transformed from an idle town to a town that’s getting a glimpse of city life. And since I decided to stay in my home since I graduated, I was able to observe how Pinamalayan grew. So if you ask me what is the newest restaurant here, I would know that the answer is Romulus Cafe and Restaurant.

On the first week of Romulus, we decided to try this new restaurant. How satisfied are we? Let’s just say that few weeks after its opening, my parents and I agreed to celebrate my 21st birthday in Romulus. It was indeed a fun day because aside from my family, who was there with me, the staff of Romulus accommodated us happily. They even surprised me with a birthday cupcake! And I’m glad that they completed my day with their simple yet undeniably scrumptious.

Soma no prescription needed overnight Nachos

I absolutely love the tomato sauce in their Nachos. It seems homemade. Without it, the Nachos would be nothing. Well, the other toppings were good. They were just bland and they stayed only on top. The amount of sliced tomatoes is easily noticeable but it’s the only fruit of vegetable. They had the right choice of chips. I wish it has more meat and cheese.

buy cheap soma without prescription Romulus Cheeseburger

This is just a simple cheeseburger but to the highest level. Where can you find a cheese so creamy? It melted beautifully to the point that it ballooned making it more appetizing. The patty was thin yet very flavorful. I think, the onions were sweetened so it added to the delectability. The bun is fresh and soft. It was so nice of them to give us a free taste of this burger.

Cheesy Penne with Meatballs

I’m glad that they followed the Italian style, which is quite tangy, and not the Filipino style, which is sweet, on their Cheesy Penne with Meatballs. The tomato flavor is rich and the pasta is cooked well. However, the meatballs are hard and dry. But the abundance of cheese and herbs helped lift the dish. It’s saucy, which is fine for me.

Baby Back Ribs

I can’t deny that Romulus’ Baby Back Ribs is one of the best in Pinamalayan, along with Dine at Log‘s and Nanay Goya‘s. It has a distinct sauce that totally luscious. I like the crispy parts of the skin. The meat is kinda tough but the great flavor will make you forget that. Even the bones were flavorful and fats weren’t over-satiating.

Pinakbet with Bagnet

The sauce of their Pinakbet with Bagnet is kinda salty but it blends with the squash, eggplant and green beans and is just alright when combined with rice. I like the idea of adding big cuts of bagnet into it and I like the twist that it gave into the dish. The bagnet alone is delicious and crispy. I just wish it has more of bagnet cuts.

Buttered Shrimp

I was quite disappointed with the buttered shrimp mainly because the shell sticks to the meat, making it hard to peel. I guess, it’s overcooked because the shrimps are also dry. I actually thought that these were steamed and not sauteed in butter because it lacks the butter flavor. There’s tanginess in it and I appreciate it.

Chicken Teriyaki

I was also sad for the Chicken Teriyaki we had. As you can see, the chicken is glistening on the outside but it was actually dry in the inside. And I think, that’s because of two reasons. First, it didn’t have enough teriyaki sauce as it only reached the skin. Second, the chicken meat isn’t that juicy. I appreciate it for its good serving though.

Romulus Hotpot Shabu Shabu Style

Romulus’ Hotpot Shabu Shabu Style is more of a Filipino version of shabu-shabu because its broth has no sign of Japanese flavors. But I still like the soup because it has the rich flavors of the meat. It has generous amount of seafood, beef, pork and vegetables. The pork and beef are dry and bland though. They opted for thick noodles so it makes one full easily.

Canton Guisado

For Filipinos, a birthday celebration won’t be complete without pancit. So we ordered two – Bihon Guisado and Canton Guisado. I appreciate that they used different sauce although they’re both guisado. The one in Bihon is saltier but has fresh veggies. I prefer the Canton Guisado because aside from the fact that it’s yummy, it is my favortie noodle for a pancit.

Almond and Cream and Mocha Peppermint

Almond and Cream reminds me of the Chinese dessert, almond jello, because of its richness in almond flavor. Mocha Peppermint lacks in coffee flavor but I think, the chocolate and peppermint were a perfect combo already. Surprisingly, the coldness is just right yet I cannot feel any ice crystals on these shakes.
