Aureo La Union: Here The World Revolves Around You

buy soma without prescription Planning our trip to La Union, it has been a choice between any hotels in San Juan or Aureo Resort. But then, I realized that San Juan is for the barkada who likes to party and chill. I am with my mother who simply likes to unwind in one place, where everything is already accessible without leaving the compound. Therefore, Aureo Resort was the better choice for this trip.

Aureo Resort is one of the most recommended hotels in San Fernando not just by blogs, but also my friends. This four-star hotel has been awarded as TripAdvisor’s Travel Choice in 2021. Aureo Resort describes itself as “a secluded resort that exudes luxury and embraces nature, set against a backdrop of golden sunsets and pristine waters.”

Upon arrival, we were welcomed with this exquisite lobby. With its mediterranean-looking design and choice of materials, we easily felt the summer vibe in here. It’s natural and modern at the same time. You won’t ran out of places to sit here as there are numerous lounges in this area.

The three of us fits perfectly in Aureo’s Deluxe Room. It is as small as a studio-type room yet the arrangement and design gave us enough space to have a comfortable stay. Aureo showcased their artsy side with their rooms, which follows the same tropical theme of their lobby.

It isn’t the typical hotel room layout as we were immediately greeted with the toilet and kitchen area. But it didn’t became a problem since the portions were executed stylishly. There are complementary snacks and drinks and I like that they opted for refillable pitcher instead of bottled water. Perhaps, they could add more clothing racks since wet clothes and towels are expected.

I personally chose their Deluxe Room for the reason that its balcony is facing their loop pool. However, it’s sad that the room chosen for us is situated at the side of the building so it doesn’t have the best view of their loop pool as we can only see the tip of it.

I think, the hotel has a hundred more rooms so they are able to accommodate a huge crowd. We actually wish to check in their Deluxe Swim, which has direct access to the pool from their terrace, but sadly, it was fully-booked. There are also villas for family. Some are located at the beachfront. Some are facing Aureo’s two swimming pools. The other has this garden as their yard.

Aureo has three swimming pools for visitors to enjoy. But since there are a lot of guests, each of them are crowded during the afternoon. Despite of the people surrounding us, we were able to enjoy the loop or what they call the lazy river. It’s a loop pool with a slow current to allow guests to ride with the flow of water.

But if you want the usual pool, there’s a kiddie pool and a pool bar beside the loop pool. There are also two more pools near the beach and villa area. One of them is an infinity pool.

Since it was peak season when we visited Aureo, the beach seems like a public one. It was crowded during the morning as early as 6am and during the afternoon when the sun was setting. La Union is known to have the best scene of the sunset and I’m happy we were able to watch it here at Aureo.

Compared to Urbiztondo beach in San Juan, the sand here is darker and coarser. It’s fine enough to have a comfy rest though. The water is shallow in the wide part of the beach so the guests got a big playground here. The seawater is unclear, probably because of the big waves. But we know that the sea is dirty because we felt itchy after swimming.

For me, the beachfront facade of Aureo is quite dull. I recommend placing some cabanas, umbrellas, couchers or benches along the shore for an added color. I hope they extended the natural tropical luxe motif to the beach because we couldn’t feel it here anymore.

There are two restaurants in Aureo and we were assigned to have our breakfast buffet at Coast. We expected the mornings to be crowded but the restaurant is big enough for guests to move freely. However, in both restaurants, I noticed that male staff is friendly while females are kinda strict.

Breakfast buffet contains just the normal stuff like cereals, bread toasts, fresh fruits and some viands. Adobo is dry. Chicken tocino is quite good. Creamy chicken soup has limited macaroni pasta. The jams for the toast are great. Daing has balanced saltiness. They really showed that daing is La Union’s specialty.  I like the omelette the best. They cook omelette how you want it to be. The juice and hot coffee are both delectable. On the second morning. we were offered the same food, except for the main courses.

On the other hand, we took our first dinner at Sea + Salt. At 8pm, I don’t think they want to make some of the dishes in their menu and plenty of them are already unavailable. We first ordered Asian Beef Kebab but it’s not available. They don’t want to serve the roast beef because they say the meat is tough. At first, they didn’t want to accept our buko shake order but when my boyfriend didn’t like to pick anymore drink, it became available. Basically, the ambiance is great. The service is meh.

There aren’t much choices for the pizza but I can’t deny that the Beef and Mushroom is savory. Although I was picturing a different pasta, I still ended up liking the pasta. Apart from the seafood toppings, the sauce has the flavor of the sea. The marinade didn’t work for the Chicken Satay as it stayed bland and dry. The peanut sauce was the saver. I wish the dip was more watery though. Buko Shake is milky but I’m happy that they retained natural flavors. The Hot Choco tastes like Swiss Miss. They didn’t even bother having that rich cocoa goodness.

Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at Aureo Resort, especially my mom. It’s something that we would recommend to our friends.
