Beauty Uses Of Honey

It’s the 415th day of quarantine period in our region and life’s so poor but you’ll see people find ways to earn money for living. Apart from having our milk tea business and ice business, you’ll also see me selling honey, which I got from The Bee Farm. These bottles of honey are farmed in a bee farm in Quezon Province. Your girl needs extra income!

Anyway, I was encouraged to use and sell honey because it’s high nutrition value that it gives to our food and drinks. Its effect to our body is like vitamins! Moreover, recently, I discovered that honey also provide some beauty benefits. Here are some beauty benefits raw honey has to offer.

Wound Healer

During the old times, honey is already a common alternative for wound healing, especially before when there isn’t much ointments. Honey has antibacterial properties and a unique pH balance that promotes oxygen and healing compounds to a wound. When applying honey, start with clean hands and cloth. Dip cloth into the honey and gently wipe onto the wound. However, people who have allergy to bee pollens shouldn’t try honey on wounds.

Acne Spot Treatment

As a continuation of honey’s healing magic, this ingredient also helps balance the bacteria on your skin, which makes it a great product to use for acne. You’ll like it better because acne does not leave scars when honey is applied. However, we have to remember that honey’s effectivity to clear acne is based on how raw it is. Unpasteurized honey has the most potential for topical application on skin.

Cuticle Moisturizer

I didn’t know that there are products that moisturize cuticle. But if you happen to need that, save your money and get honey. Upon getting to know about cuticle moisturizer, I noticed that most commercial products use honey as an active ingredient. Because of its ability to hold onto water, it makes a potent moisturizer as without creating an oily feel.

Lip Balm

By combining beeswax, coconut oil and honey over medium heat, you’ll immediately have an amazing lip balm. Honey can help moisturize your lips and protect cracked lips from infection. It also works as a mild exfoliator and can help remove dry, dead skin from your lips. I think, the only disadvantage of having honey as lip balm is the fact that it will easily wear off. It’s so sweet that you’ll keep on licking it!

Hair Conditioner

As you can see from the previous uses, honey is consistent when it comes to moisturizing and that also applies to hair. Pure honey is considered to be a natural conditioner and softener for hair. Being a natural humectant, honey also moisturises and keeps the moisture intact to give healthy looking hair. Aside from being a hair conditioner, honey also has the ability to lighten and make you hair shine.
