Fujiyama Snow Park Yeti: Ski With Mount Fuji In The Backdrop

http___www.bigleaguekickball.com_category_press_ soma cheap no prescription When we went to Japan, our eight-day trip followed a DIY itinerary so we could explore each destination deeply while handling our own time. But for one day, we allowed ourselves to be associated in a grouped tour led by a tourist guide. After all, Mount Fuji is quite far from Tokyo and it’s a hassle to commute from place to place.

We booked our Mount Fuji tour through Klook. The package already consists Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti, Lake Ashi, Hakone Ropeway and Gotemba Outlet. It was worth it, to be honest, because we were able to visit a lot for only one day and yet we had enough time to enjoy each destinations.

The package also includes bento for lunch. It is the best packed lunch that I’ve ever eaten. I realized that Japanese cuisine are so great that even simple packed meals are provided with quality dishes.

Oishi-san, the one in the photo, served as our tour guide for the day. His speech in English may be slurred, but his humor and hospitality is indeed commendable. He was always rushing around though but it was to make sure that everything went smoothly for us and everyone got back in time. After all, it’s not easy to manage a big group.

While we’re on our way to our first destination, we were fortunate to see the perfect cone of Mount Fuji from our bus. The symmetrical shape and the snow cap makes the volcano unique and majestic. As we traversed the roads of Gotemba, we also witnessed traditional Japanese homes and snow-covered trees. It’s the view of how I accurately picture the dreamy country life at Japan.

But our luck didn’t end there because the bus brought us exactly at the foot of Mount Fuji, where Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti, our first stop, is located. Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti is notable for being the snow resort opening the earliest every year. They have this machine that produces man-made snow so as early as October or even when the nature does not cooperate, they can provide a field of snow for people who wants to enjoy winter activities.

Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti’s main attraction is the skiing field, of course. I don’t know much about the sport so let me copy the details I got from other sites. Japan Guide says that the resort has four runs. Its two main runs are each about 1000 meters long and well suited to beginners. The shorter secondary runs are steeper and narrower and closed during night skiing.

However, our limited time only allowed us to watch the skiers. Besides, we don’t have the knowledge to glide with them. At first, I thought that the resort have a chair lift resembling Sentosa’s Skyline Luge. But they’re chair lifts to transport skiers up the hill. So yep! We missed the opportunity to see the snow land in bird’s eye view. But it’s alright because we had a cable car ride in Hakone later that day.

In the meantime, we, non-skiers, can still have the best time in Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti as the resort’s playground is meant for us. We also had a downward piste where we went sledding using the free rental sleighs. It was so fun that we spent most of our time running up and sliding down repeatedly. It’s mainly for children but we have a heart of a kid so, I guess, that counts!

It’s snow! It’s my first time to touch and see one! I don’t know if this was the fake snow or not but it still felt great to be here. However, the snow is so compacted to ground that we couldn’t make snowballs and snowman. We couldn’t even submerge our bodies to form snow angels. Perhaps, that’s the downside of snow-making machine. I’m glad that the color was close to authentic and the texture was fine.

At entrance, there are restaurants and shops where guests can take a break. The establishments are structured into cabins so imagine how beautiful the façade they give, especially, with that fire pit outside. The shop carries a wide range of small items that people tend to forget like gloves and hats so visitors can have fun playing in the snow without worry. The cafe, on the other hand, offers a menu that is mostly composed of heavy meals like ramen and rice bowls.

It was almost time to get back to the bus so we decided to buy a snack that can be cooked quickly. We found this mini food truck that was also inside the compound and bought potatoes. It was just simple boiled potatoes cooked in wood fire and topped with butter and cheese, which were melted through the potatoes’ heat. It was damn good, especially at this cold weather. I don’t know but the charred areas and the cheese made it taste like Pik Nik Potato Sticks.

Upon searching the net, I learned that aside from Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti, there’s a number of snow parks in towns and stations around Mount Fuji like Fujiten Snow Resort, which is also located at the foot of Mount Fuji, and Fujimi Panorama Resort. All offers ski and snowboard activities. Perhaps, the resorts differ in slopes of terrains and courses. Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti is a lead choice because it’s operating even if it is not the temperature for snow.
