Happy Mango Day!

Tomorrow is the day dedicated to one thing – eating mangoes! It’s because every 22nd day of July, we celebrate mango day! How awesome is that?

According to Roodepoort Record, five thousand years ago, mangoes were first cultivated in India before they spread to Southeast Asia. In the 10th century AD, cultivation of this deliciously sweet and juicy fruit began in East Africa. Mangoes are cultivated in most frost-free tropical climates, with almost half of the world’s mango supply harvested in India. The second largest source is China. And did you know that mango is the national fruit of our country, the Philippines? Mangoes can be eaten when it’s ripe and yellowish-red. But some people enjoy it while it’s unripe and green.

Now, mango day is celebrated worldwide. Tomorrow is the time to buy a bunch of mangoes and try out different recipes. Let me share some ways to prepare this fruit.
