How I Make Candy Cane Cream Pie

This year’s Christmas Eve is quite sad and regretful because my mother and I chose to stay at work the day before Christmas.

Last September, we put up a small food stall in the city. And we took advantage of the great number of orders last Christmas. Yep! We just gave our customers their Noche Buena feast but we are left with a limited time to prepare for our own. It’s sad because I missed the opportunity when the family is together helping each other, cooking and preparing. So I whispered to myself. That’s not gonna happen again, even though we earned a lot.

Therefore, on this Christmas eve, I prepared a simple and easy to make cream pie. Bringing the Christmas feels, I opted to have a candy cane-flavored one.

1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.

  • candy canes
  • 48 big marshmallows
  • 500ml whipping cream
  • 500ml all purpose cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups crushed oreos
  • 1 1/2 stick butter

2. I got my whip cream dispenser so I won’t waste time whipping. I just have to pour the whipping cream in.

3. Close, charge and shake! Set in fridge for the meantime. Also, let the all purpose cream chill.

4. Melt butter. I’m sorry for the blurry photo.

5. Let’s make the crust by blending melted butter and crushed oreos together.

6. Spread on a pan and flatten with measuring cup. Set this aside.

7. Crush around 12 candy canes.

8. Melt a half cup of crushed candy cane with a quarter cup of water over medium heat to make peppermint syrup. Remove from heat and let this cool.

9. In another pot, melt marshmallows with milk.

10. Once the marshmallows have melted and the mixture is creamy, add salt, vanilla extract and two tablespoons of candy cane syrup.

11. Remove from heat and let this cool for 30 minutes. Mix in chilled all purpose cream.

12. Pour in the remaining crushed candy canes.

13. Pipe a dallop of whipped cream into the mixture and fold it in.

14. Get the crust and spread the candy cane mixture on top.

15. Chill in fridge.

16. Top with more whipped cream and drizzle more crushed candy canes when serving.

17. Your Candy Cane Cream Pie is now done and ready to be served.
