How To Make Salted Caramel Macchiato

Who would have thought that salty and sweet would be a good match? Actually, it isn’t a new discovery. Food technologists, chefs and bakers already know that adding saltiness to something sweet is luscious as salt would enhance the flavor of a certain sweet food. That’s why salted caramel has been a thing for a long time now. And aside from salted caramel, there are also chocolate-coated bacon and sundae-dipped fries.

Now, let’s all wonder how salt and caramel combo would taste like as we make salted caramel macchiato.

1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.

  • 3/4 cup espresso
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • two tablespoons caramel
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

2. Sprinkle some salt into the milk.

3. Scoop caramel into the milk.

4. Place milk into the microwave for a minute to infuse the flavors of salt and caramel into the milk. If the milk lacks sweetness, you can add more caramel sauce while it is still hot.

5. Remove milk from heat and froth. Honestly, blending is not the proper way of frothing. I just don’t have frother in my current residence.

6. Get your cup or mug. Put the espresso first.

7. Pour the milk second.

8. Drizzle some syrup or any toppings you want on top of the foam.

9. Your Salted Caramel Macchiato is now done and ready to be served.
