Martessem Mountain Resort: Your Splendour In The Sky

Buy Soma without prescription on sale When the use of motorcycles and big bikes were hyped up again after the pandemic, Marcos Highway, also known as the Marilaque Highway, has become a trending route for rides because of the length, slopes and curves. I can remember how my boyfriend wanted to perform banked turns on those deep curves. Aside from the challenging trail, this route from Marikina to Infanta, Quezon offers a scenic vista of the adjacent Sierra Madre Mountain Range, Laguna de Bay and Metro Manila’s cityscape. It’s indeed a wonder! I’m predicting that this will soon be the Tagaytay of the east.

He was watching vlogs of riders travelling along the said course literally everyday. I even think that he already memorized the road even though we haven’t been there.

Our friends recommended to stop by Martessem Mountain Resort, a tourist destination that sits on a hilltop of Tanay. Martessem Mountain Resort is prominent due to the sea of clouds that flaunts before sunrise. The resort also serves as a hotel and an events place.

The panorama of the Sierra Madre mountain ridges is indeed a relaxing reward after a long ride. At morning, guests can witness a breathtaking overcast layer of clouds, hence the name. In the afternoon, they can bask in the glow of the sunset. The tree and its dry leaves complete the picturesque scene and add aesthetic effects when captured in camera. There’s no wonder why this is most favored spot in Martessem Mountain Resort by the visitors.

The resort houses, not just one, but three restaurants! It isn’t a surprise since a lot of guests, traversing the Marilaque highway, are stopping by at this resort merely to eat and enjoy the view. When we arrived, large tables are arranged in The Whitehouse Restaurant because there will be a wedding on the next day. With just the two of us, it felt uncomfortable to eat so we moved to Martesio Cafe, which also has an al fresco set up.

Yep! You can still eat your orders from The Whitehouse Restaurant here at Martesio Cafe. We had Clubhouse Sandwich, Chicharon Bulaklak and Tapsilog. The beef tapa, which is not in the photo, is incredible. It tastes like beef jerky. However, we weren’t able to finish the Chicharong Bulalak since it’s consisted mostly of fats. The crispy petals were just countable. In terms of taste, it was too salty.

I liked the Clubhouse Sandwich as it is filled generously with quality ham, creamy cheese and evidently well-cooked egg. The bread slices were pressed until crispy. The cheese sauce is smoky and I’m loving it. Of course, we grabbed some drinks at Martesio Cafe. The Iced White Mocha was just okay. The blend was fitting to the likes of many. But coffee enthusiasts may find it too sweet. The caramel drizzle was unnecessary. The White Rabbit Frappe, on the other hand, really tastes like White Rabbit so they did a good job on this one.

The splendor of this resort makes one want to stay overnight. Martessem Mountain Resort got you with that as the place also offers accommodation for couples, for family or for a big group. They have deluxe rooms, suites, huts and camping tents. My fave is the cabin, overlooking the lush mountain. With this, our eyes and hearts are already full! Moreover, it’s a private cabin so overnight guests will definitely find peace and serenity in this kind of environment.

It’s a small cabin yet it can already fit four people. Opening the one-way mirror door, we were greeted by a queen-sized bed and another queen-sized mattress that can be pulled out under the bed. It is surrounded by simple gray walls and adorned with basic furnitures. The room is great but it would be lovelier if they hire an interior designer to further maximize and glamorize the cabin. They can take Noni’s Resort’s Talisay Cabin for inspiration.

If Noni’s Resort’s Talisay Cabin has a plunge pool in front of the cabin, Martessem Mountain Resort’s Junior Suite surprised us with an indoor hot tub despite of the tiny space of the cabin. The one side of the room is made of glass walls so you can have the soothing view of nature while in a calming hot water. Don’t worry about the glass. It’s a one-way mirror so it may be transparent from the inside but reflective on the outside.

There’s a swimming pool in the compound but it isn’t as grand as most resort pools nowadays. After all, when you’re in Martessem Mountain Resort, swimming is the last activity you would opt to do because the weather is often chilly due to its location. I just wished they built the pool near the cliff edge so the Sierra Madre view can still be appreciated while dipping. Perhaps, they could also add some more benches and lounge chairs on the pool side.

The area we’ve seen was just half of the vast hilly land of Martessem Mountain Resort. There are more activities that you can do when you’re in there such as fish feeding and horseback riding. I don’t know if this is the pond where the fishes are. It seemed that thw pond was under construction when we visited. But I’ve watched from old TikTok clips that they shelter a number of Koi fishes to feed. We’ll definitely come back for these activities and for another stay at the cabin.
