Yakiniku Like: Tasty! Quick! Value!

Japan’s famous grill restaurant, Yakiniku Like is now in Manila! It recently opened its first branch in Mall of Asia. But before dining in their Manila branch, I already had an experience with Yakiniku Like in mainland Japan so everything’s familiar with me. I’m just happy that this one thing I miss in Japan is now here in the Philippines.

Here’s a quick background about Yakiniku. It’s the Japanese counterpart of Korean Samgyeopsal so it’s also a grill-your-own-food joint. However, since the Japanese believes that eating alone is convenient, Yakiniku Like operates in a solo dining setup. Hence, each person has its own grill and the food in the menu are not meant for sharing. It’s a restaurant for us, introverts!

Apart from the dining system, I realized that Samgyeopsal and Yakiniku has a huge difference when it comes to meat and its quality.

Soma with no prescription Overnight COD Deliveyry Barakalbi

When the thinly-sliced meat was grilled, it turned crispy and yummy. The fatty areas and the charred areas gave more flavors. My boyfriend like the Japanese Beef Kalbi. I don’t know how it differs to the normal Galbi but it was also good. I’m sorry if my review for Barakalbi was kinda messy. It was my first time eating in Yakiniku Like and it was in Japan. They have a different kind of ordering system. We have to send our order by ourselves through their tablets and the menu has no English translation. Nonetheless, this was the time when I realized that Yakiniku is better than Samgyeopsal.

Yakiniku is better than Samgyeopsal. This statement was further approved when we dined in the newly-opened Yakaniku Like in Manila. We had the Karubi and Harami Set and it was the best meat I’ve ever tasted in a barbecue restaurant. No exaggeration! I could definitely savor the top-quality flavors of the skirt steak! There’s no sauce required to appreciate the beefiness. I just seasoned the Harami with salt and pepper and it’s so damn good already! The Beef Short Plate was blander so we opted to dip it with the Like Original Barbecue Sauce. The taste is irresistible.

Pork and Chicken Set

You get the best deal with Yakiniku Like’s Pork and Chicken Set. Although it’s just pork and chicken, the set doesn’t come short when it comes to taste and quality. The chicken exposes its natural flavors after grilling. It’s tender and fresh. The pork belly gives a melt-in-the-mouth feels. It’s thin and not satiating. Both meat was flavorful even without sauce. But I prefer dipping them in Like Cheesy Curry we ordered. The spices touched the sauce just right. It isn’t too intense yet not too mild. I only wished that the cheese was further melted to have that gooey effect.

Sukiyaki Karubi Set

Sukiyaki Karubi is the usual Yakiniku Like’s beef short plate but has more authentic taste of Japan through Sukiyaki. It was thin so it didn’t take time to cook and to be devoured. However, the marinade didn’t work well so the hint of sukiyaki in the beef was just mild. It’s a good thing that Yakiniku Like has Sea Salt Sauce that blends with the Sukayaki Karubi. Nevertheless, the beef itself has the elements of a top-grade meat so I still ended up having a super satisfying meal. This set is even served with soft boiled egg for dipping to enhance the sukiyaki experience.

Angus Sirloin Steak

As you can see, we always order set meals instead of ala carte because we can save more through set meals, not to mention the salad and miso soup that comes with it. The salad is just lettuce, cucumber strips and dressing but it’s delectable. On the other hand, the miso soup is so comforting to eat. I can’t believe that in Yakiniku Like, I preferred their skirt steak than this Angus Sirloin Steak. I don’t know if it is because of my cooking though. I may have cooked it to medium well. But it still ended up very tender. The fatty parts taste like heaven.
