This branch was shot in Acienda. And amazingly, they have a lot more branches nationwide. But do you know where I first met Ate Rica’s Bacsilog? It’s also the place where they started the business. It’s the place where I usually spend my lunch break during college. I’m talking about Agno, a food court neighboring DLSU.

I call Agno as the mini food park of DLSU since it gives an ambiance of being in a park and at the same time, the best food kiosks are gathered in this place. It’s actually not part of DLSU compound but since it is just beside the school, Lasallians somehow claim it as one of their canteens. Most students take their lunch and snacks here because the food are not just great, but also affordable. Food inside the school are a bit pricey so some prefer Agno.

If the dish is in the name of the restaurant, the restaurant won’t let you down on the dish for sure. It is the Bacsilog that rose Ate Rica’s Bacsilog to prominence. Once you tasted it, you will instantly understand why it is loved by everybody. The bacon and egg, which are fried to perfection, are seasoned with their signature cheese sauce that is truly addictive. It’s the cheese sauce that makes Ate Rica’s Bacsilog distinct to other silog food establishments.

The footlong is soft and savory. Tasting the toasted parts, I think I would prefer a toasted footlong. This isn’t a cheese dog but it became cheesy because of Ate Rica’s Special Cheese Sauce. The sauce always do the trick. However, the taste of their dishes obviously changed comparing the taste of their dishes now and the first time I met Ate Rica’s Bacsilog in Agno. But don’t get me wrong. They’re extremely good until now.

Yep! You can also combine two viands you desire to make a combo silog. But I guess my choice of combination doesn’t complement each other although they are great individually. The tapa is juicy and chunky and flavorful and all. However, I wasn’t expecting the tuna to be corned as I was craving for a natural tuna than processed ones. Gratefully, as always, the whole meal became delish because of the cheese sauce.

Basically, the omelettes are just the same meal but instead of a separate dish and egg, they scrambled them together into an omelette and top it over rice. Despite of being covered with egg, the corned beef was abundant. However, in this way, it became bland. Or perhaps, the corned beef wasn’t really tasty on its own. Their signature cheese sauce isn’t present but the melted cheese folded in the omelette is enough to make this meal satisfying.

 

Burger

I don’t know if this is still on their menu but Ate Rica’s Bacsilog started their business in La Salle offering sandwiches. Actually, they have a long menu for sandwiches and they all have single filling. I chose the burger because it’s really worth it. It’s only 29 pesos and I get two burgers already. If you’re thinking about Angel’s Burger, I was thinking the same when I was eating these two delight. But here, you get the patty at first bite.
