How I Make Froot Loops Cookie Waffle

It’s the 447th day of quarantine period in our region and a typhoon is currently passing the country. For our customers’ and employees’ safety, we decided to close our store for the day. Since there’s no work today, now is my free time to do what I wanted to do for quite some time now, while I woryy and pray that the typhoon won’t strike hard and won’t give much damage to infrastructures.

As for the things I want to do, that includes cooking and trying to put some cookie dough into the waffle iron. I saw samples of cookie waffle in Pinterest so I got the idea of making my own. Actually, cookie waffle is already a thing among Dutches. Almost every supermarket in the Netherlands stocks several varieties of Stroopwafel, a thin wafer waffle cookie with caramel filling. Many markets throughout the country have stalls that bake and sell it.

I opted for a cereal favorite, Froot Loops because chocolate chips need some change sometimes.

1. Prepare all the ingredients needed.

  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powderr
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 5 cups Froot Loops cereal
  • oil

2. Combine the first three dry ingredients. Sugar is not included as this is considered as wet ingredient.

3. In a separate bowl, mash the banana and mix it with the two sugar kinds, egg and vanilla extract using a hand mixer.

4. While mixing the wet ingredients, add flour mixture in two batches.

5. Grind the cereal using food processor. We’re talking about five cups of Froot Loops.

6. Fold in pixie dust into the cookie dough.

7. Mold, make balls and flatten.

8. Preheat waffle iron and brush with oil.

9. Cook cookie waffles.

10. Stroopwafel is thinner and its waffle iron has smaller molds. But if you wan’t to imitate the famous Dutch sweet delight, pour caramel syrup into one waffle.

11. Make a sandwich.

12. Your Froot Loops Cookie Waffle is now done and ready to be served.
