How To Make Chocolate Banana Split

It’s the 223rd day of quarantine period in our region and my next recipe will surely satisfy dessert lovers who has a sweet tooth. I know the season’s getting chilly but the cold will never bother us when we’re talking about banana split.

I simply named this dessert Chocolate Banana Split. So how does it differ to other chocolate banana split? We’ll aside from having a chocolate ice cream and chocolate syrup, I incorporated the famous Japanese street food, which is Choco Banana, wherein we often see bananas on sticks covered with chocolate and sprinkles. So instead of having simple bananas on this plate, we have here Japanese Choco Banana for a twist.

1. Prepare all the ingredients needed. Measurement are all based on your preference.

  • bananas
  • 250ml all purpose cream
  • 150ml condensed milk
  • chocolate spread
  • vanilla extract
  • purple yam jam
  • chocolate
  • milk butter
  • sprinkles
  • whipped cream
  • marshmallows
  • chocolate syrup

2. Make a simple ice cream by mixing 250 ml all purpose cream and 150 ml condensed milk. Whip until soft peaks form.

3. Divide into three and fold in flavoring on each. Mine got vanilla, chocolate and purple yam jam flavors.

4. Get a deep pan for the ice cream and carton papers to divide portions of pan into three. Pour creams into the pan. Once the creams were settled, quickly remove the carton paper.

5. Place in freezer for cooling.

6. Get the bananas. Slice into two and insert sticks into the pieces. Set these aside.

7. Melt chocolate and milk butter together in the microwave for one minute.

8. Dip bananas into melted chocolate and roll them on a bed of sprinkles.

9. Place these bananas in the freezer as well.

10. When everything’s ready, we can start assembling chocolate-covered bananas with scoops of ice cream on a plate.

11. Top this with whipping cream, chocolate syrup and marshmallows.

12. Your Chocolate-covered Banana Split is now done and ready to be served.
