How I Make Peanut Butter Chocolate Truffles

What is a truffle? Some asks. It is an expensive fungus that grows underneath the oak trees. It is widely used in culinary as it adds a unique and unmatched aroma and flavor to a dish. Truffles are hard to find and frustrating to grow so it is almost impossible that I get my hands on it. So we’re having the chocolate one. 

Homemade chocolate truffles are named after truffles because of the striking resemblance with the original truffles. It is a confectionery, traditionally made with a chocolate ganache center coated in chocolate and cocoa powder. I actually made some chocolate truffles before. Today, we’ll have the Peanut Butter Chocolate Truffle. It tastes like Reese’s so you’ll love this, for sure.

2. Combine butter and peanut butter and heat in microwave to soften. Mix together.

3. Add the powdered sugar and pumpkin seeds into the mixture. I added pumpkin seeds for an extra crunch and salty kick. You can also use nuts instead of seeds.

4. This will make a dough. Roll into small balls.

5. Place in freezer for 30 minutes.

6. For the meantime, melt chocolate in a double boiler.

7. Coat peanut butter balls with melted chocolate.

8. Roll into a can of cocoa powder. Place in fridge.

9. Your Peanut Butter Chocolate Truffle is now done and ready to be served.
