After all, it is regarded “The Only Tiger Safari in the Philippines”. A day-tour is divided into five parts: Zoobic, Serpentarium, Lion Close Encounter, Tiger Safari Ride and Croco Loco.

We first made our way to Zoobic Park, where we witnessed different mammals from the usual to rare ones. Regardless of how frequent I see some of the species, I was still excited to bond with them. However, the animals seemed lonely in their present habitat. I can only see two or three animals per cage unlike in Zoori, where there is usually a pack or herd for every cage. I expected them to play and be happy. But nope! They were just gazing at the walking guests with their begging eyes. So instead of joy, it was pity that I felt. The Bird Thrill seems to be closed during the time of our visit but we still got to see a few birds in Zoobic Park.

Their cages are too big for only one companion for every animal. I hope Zoobic Safari can bring more friends for them.

This donkey followed us and thought that we bought food for them. I’m sorry, man. I’m sure there are next guests who’ll feed you greens.

It’s a pleasure to meet this Umbrella Cockatoo but we were much entertained by the parrot, who was conversing with us.

I wonder how old these African Spurred Tortoises are.

Serpentarium was the next stop. This room houses different species of reptiles like snakes, lizards and iguanas are sheltered. I’m in awe yet still couldn’t help but feel pity for these cold-blooded creatures. I wish they are free to their natural habitat. But for sure, they are now dependent for their food so they wouldn’t live in the outside world.

Here, the iguanas are settling for fake leaves.

I was totally captivated by the beauty of the reptiles here. Zoori truly gives us the opportunity to see animals ordinary people like me rarely see and even know.

The lizard that interests me the most is this animal they call Bearded Dragon. They have a throat that they can make look like a beard.

I’m scared of snakes but this one’s such a cutie!

For our next destinations, we are supposed to ride their orange-stripped trams but due to the pandemic, we must drive our own vehicle. The Lion Close Encounter let us pass through the cages of lions. The small size of their cages was indeed noticeable unlike in Zoori, the lions have their own enclosure so they can still wander around the jungle. But I guess there are more lions here so they’re letting them out one by one.

It’s heartbroken to see how Mayumi and the rest of the big cats seemed to be unfit and unhealthy. I’m not an expert on diagnosing lions but it’s clear that they are not in their best condition.

Digong, a six-year old lion, must be the king of the jungle. He’s not feeling his majesty when he’s in his cage.

Zoobic Safari is proud to have the rare mix of tiger and lion. The liger is often believed to represent the largest known cat in the world. Girl, if you combined two large wild cats, then it has a high possibility to be the largest.

Also, at the entrance of Zoobic Safari, we can have a wonderful encounter with cubs. They won’t just let you see a cute baby lion but they will also let you take a photo and feed them! But I decided to skip this part since I already had the same experience at Zoori.

The Tiger Safari Ride was the highlight of the tour as it gives us this one-of-a-kind experience of thrilling encounter with tigers. In this fun activity, we transferred to a caged jeep, entered the tiger enclosure and let the tigers chase our vehicle. But in order for the tigers to come near the jeep, the guests must buy a bucket of rare chicken to be fed to the tigers.

When we arrived, I’m happy to see Tom and Jerry, the two tigers we met, freely roaming around in their semi-natural habitat. The zookeeper started calling them and fed the chickens we bought. How close was this encounter? The tiger’s huge mouth, devouring rare chicken, was literally just a feet away from my face. But I felt no fear at all because the zookeeper made us feel like he’s just feeding a dog. With this, I realized how domesticated these tigers are. They are calm and meek, which is far from their natural behavior.

Look how close I was with the tiger! Like our small feline friends, the tiger even licked the hands of the zookeeper after eating his meal.

After eating, the tiger even leaped to our jeep’s roof and joined us as we took a stroll into the jungle. Anyway, here’s a photo of me with the tiger snapped by the zookeeper.

The Croco Loco was just as enjoyable as the other trips. I have never seen as many big crocodiles as what Zoobic Safari have in their yard. And they were just a few steps below our feet. However, I found these creature weird and funny at the same time when we were feeding them. They will just move from their positions once they see or smell food. They’ll come near us and they’ll open their mouths. When the food is gone, they’ll stop as if they’re playing Freeze Dance. And yep! Their jaws remain dropped.

That was a good catch!

While the big crocodiles have a pen of their own, this small croc is settling in an aquarium in Serpentarium.

I won’t deny that we enjoyed our trip in Zoobic Safari. However, it would be much worthy if the other attractions weren’t closed. The Rodent World, Savannah, Muzooeum, Aeta’s Trail, Forbidden Cave, Sky Safari, GirafZride and Zoobic Cave aren’t operational.

For those who want to take a quick break from the thrills, there’s an al fresco restaurant inside the park. We didn’t eat here but I find the interior artsy.

Of course, we can’t leave the zoo without buying remembrance or giving souvenirs for our friends. There’s this store called Zoovenir Shop inside but there are also a line of pasalubong stores outside just beside the parking lot.
