Best Of Glico

One of the little things I miss to do when we’re in Japan is our daily shopping spree in Japanese convenience stores. They have the most awesome stuff so we can’t help but be amused and try everything we can! Lawson is just located downstairs of our hotel so there wasn’t a single morning or a single night during our 8-day trip that we’re absent in the store. It has been our stop to recharge at morning breakfast and to satisfy our midnight cravings.

The Glico products were my first targets because I grew up in a country where the only available Glico product is Pocky. It seems that Glico is very known in Japan as it competes with big snack names such as Meiji and Korea’s Lotte. So while in Japan, I tried the rest of the Glico products because I won’t be able to see them anymore when I get back to the Philippines.

buy soma without prescription Pocky

As I said, it was Pocky that introduced me to the Glico brand. They are simply coated biscuit sticks but they’re delightfully yummy. The light texture of the baked pretzel and the rich chocolate coating makes it delicious. It’s a snack for all ages. It comes in many flavors but my fave is the chocolate. This product alone made me believe that other Glico products are also must-tries.

Soma no prescription needed overnight Pretz

Before Japan, I also had a try of BBQ Chicken Pretz, which I bought in a convenience store in Indonesia. Pretz variants feature strange umami flavors such as Thai Hot Chili, Scallop & Soy Sauce and Tomato. Are they trying to transform a meal into baked biscuit stick? This is incredible! It’s my first time to try pretzel sticks that is savory and not sweet. The BBQ Chicken flavor is damn good.

Libera is the first chocolate I discovered in Japan. And I’m happy I got to try it. It’s the snack I kept in my bag so I have something to munch while in train. When I say cacao, this is what I’m talking about. It doesn’t taste sweet but the bitterness isn’t annoying at all. Usually, eating a pack scratches my throat. But this one doesn’t. I wonder how it differs to Glico’s Gaba because they almost look alike.

At first, I was hesitant if Gratz is really a biscuit because it’s like a trail mix. It feels like nuts. It tastes like nuts. I’m surprised to know that it’s toasted bread seasoned to make it taste like chips. This is eating chips but in a healthier way. But I can’t say if this is nutritious though because the flavoring is intense. The savor actually reminds me of Uni-President‘s Nooda. There are also almonds but very minimal. The almonds doesn’t absorb the flavors though.

Bisco Baked Chocolate Cookie

These Bisco boxes comes in little packs that are so cute. It shows how Japanese like kawaii stuff. It’s basically a double chocolate bisuit. Although both the filling and the cookie are chocolate, the sweetness wasn’t too much because both layers are made out of dark chocolate. Just do not eat everything at once. Apart from that, there’s nothing special anymore. The biscuit feels dry in the mouth.

Almond Milk

I thought I was gonna hate this because almond milk in the Philippines tastes like crap. I still had a try because I was buying Glico products in Japan and I’m glad I tried it! I didn’t regret buying because I got to taste milk made from filtered real almonds. This tastes nothing like the almond milk products in Philippines. I can truly taste the nut in this like as if I munched an almond.

Red Apple Green Apple 100%

If you like sweet apple juice, then this is not for you. This Glico drink tastes like real apple. And by real apple, I mean a combination of sweet, tangy and bitter. It’s like someone squeezed apples into this box. I can even taste middle part of the fruit. That is how natural it is! But as I drink further, it started to taste like wine. The same goes with the orange flavor. It’s so organic that I can taste the bitter white parts of a real orange.

Cafe Ore

For a latte packed in a paper cup and sold in a convenience store, this is amazingly good! At first, it’s milky so you wouldn’t feel any bitterness. But eventually, you’ll realize how rich the java is. I can actually taste the flavor of the roast. It isn’t too sweet also. It’s so delicious that I can’t stop gulping the whole thing in one sipping like as if it’s a chocolate drink. It’s also my first time to buy a drink in an inverted cup. It’s cool!

Ice Cream White Cafe Au Lait

I guess I loved the coffee so much that I grabbed the ice cream version. I’ve never seen an ice cream like this! Visually, it’s like I’m just eating balls of maltesers. But these balls are actually frozen ice cream. Just like M&Ms, these bite-sized ice cream melts in the mouth, not on hand. I just can’t describe how amazing and advanced this is! The coffee is creamy. I didn’t think of the flavor anymore, actually, because I’m so focused on how this is made.

Breakfast Apple Yogurt

I personally find the texture of the yogurt weird because I’m used to thick yogurt and not like this, which is almost drinkable. But in terms of taste, it’s sweet, tangy and delectable. The addition of apple flavor was just right, making it a nourishing kid snack in school and a filling adult breakfast. I appreciate the sliced apple. The fruit makes this cup a full breakfast meal.
